Vaginal Enlargement

 

A woman with narrow or very tight vagina can suffer dyspareunia (painful intercourse) on penetration during sexual intercourse. In some cases intercourse might be impossible because of the vagina being too tight or too small to accommodate the male organ.

Most patients actually require the opposite procedure i.e. vaginal tightening ( see below).

We had some couple who could not achieve a successful intercourse on their wedding night. For the reasons mentioned above.

Surgical enlargement of the vagina might be advised . The operation is normally performed under general anesthetics but might be possible to perform it under local and is usually performed as a day case. We used to remove sutures after about five days and sexual intercourse may be resumed shortly after that. Over the past few years, we started to burry sutures under the skin which are dissolvable and are much more comfortable.

Sexual intercourse can be started after about 10 days or so.
